What services do you offer?

At Redefine we specialize in psychotherapy for individuals and couples. We work with clients to address anxiety, life transitions, grief, trauma, and more. See the “our team” section of our website to learn about clinician specializations in EMDR, Art Therapy, and Music Therapy.

What can I expect in starting therapy?

Therapy at Redefine begins in a nonjudgemental and confidential space that fosters trust and personal growth. Our therapists will schedule an intake session to meet, assess your goals, and get an overview of your personal history. In subsequent sessions you and your therapist will work together to explore concerns, identify patterns, set goals, and learn coping skills.

Do you accept insurance?

Our providers are in-network with Blue Cross, Carefirst, Cigna, and Evernorth. If you do not have these insurances, we will provide you with a superbill for services that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What is a superbill?

A superbill functions as a receipt and contains all the information your insurer needs to process a claim, such as the therapist's credentials, diagnostic codes, service dates, and the amount you paid. This allows you to be reimbursed for a portion of the cost, depending on your out-of-network benefits.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Do you have a cancelation policy?

We ask that any appointment that needs to be cancelled be done at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. We do understand life can be unpredictable, and will waive the first session missed that is not cancelled within the 24 hour window. Any subsequent missed sessions will be subject to a $100 cancelation fee.

I don’t live in Washington DC, can I still be seen at Redefine?

We can see clients who are not DC residents in-person at our office located at 1629 K St NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20006

What’s the best way to get to the office?

Our office is within two blocks of Farrugut West Metro on the orange/silver/blue line as well as Farragut North on the red line. There is also street and garage parking on K and L streets.
